i think alot of you guys are writing up on ADS/CPDLC.
somehow i don't feel that those 2 systems are technically a RADAR.
look at TOmmy's notes Pg 5
'.... radar range ...up to 200nm.... radar range limited by earth curvature.... no system for oceanic control.... using procedural control........ satellite-based technology like ADS/CPDLC.....'
i sent Ralph a string of text that further emphasizes this, check with him, i lost the msg convo.
to give a better idea, i saw the below somewhere:
The following Air Traffic Control (ATC) surveillance, approach and landing radars are commonly used in Air Traffic Management (ATM):
- en-route RADAR systems,
- Air Surveillance (ASR) systems,

eagerly waiting for the dumb guys to arrive
hopefully we wont have any uninvited guests tonight again, ie. Blue Forces...
and that we wont have repeated cases of Blaring Handphone music or SOME PEOPLE doing push-ups at the wrong time
i.e. when Uninvited Guests gatecrash..
quite nice and cosy...

and it was alright for 4 hours until we were packing up and someone decided to get drunk and blast Handphone music as we left to clear rubbish..
So guess who came knocking....
