Job Interviews

as far as i can tell, most of you guys are still clueless about ace-ing a job interview.

PS: i also noticed that some of you guys give me the impression of half-heartedness. If that's the case, don't waste the your time or the interviewer's.

In any case, internships are just a semester away. It is not too early to prepare a 'mental blueprint' for your future job interviews.

Things to bring:
1. Resume (do include school testimonials and/or commendation letters from ex-employers)
2. Cover Letter
(Both neatly presented in a folder)

In the past, you guys may not have the habit of writing cover letters when applying for partime positions. I am not sure if you are required to write one for internship application.

However, i'm sure that a well-written cover letter will set you apart from the other applicants. I feel that a good cover letter may ever give you an edge over another applicant who has a slightly more impressive resume than u.

I see a cover letter as a personal executive summary of yourself, which tells the interview how you are suited for the job and why you deserve it. Your cover letter and you performance at the interview itself, will then be substantiated by your adequately prepared resume. I feel that a resume alone, is irrelevant to the job because it is just your personal spec-sheet of your past achievements(if any) and the interviewer has to take the trouble to attempt linking your traits and capabilities to the JD.

The cover letter is that link between your resume and the job you seek.

You can easily search for tips on writing a cover letter by searching online in Yahoo or Google. just type "how to write a good cover letter". Same goes for preparing a resume.

Here are some other tips,
The tips may be from a man's website, but the girls can just read and apply what's relevant.
